SkillDisplay - The Final Erasmus+ Year
Thanks to Christina from SkillDisplay for sharing!
Time is flying! The last year of the Erasmus+ programme has already begun. Therefore, with this blog post we want to focus on the future of the Erasmus+ supported project, and additionally the goals of the SkillDisplay GmbH.
Topics in this blog post cover:
Roadmap for the final Erasmus+ year
To visualise SkillDisplay’s goals (Erasmus+ and GmbH) from September 2019 to August 2020, a roadmap has been created and looks as follows:
Erasmus+ goals and prospective news articles
Let’s start with the Erasmus+ goals!
Feature/UX optimisation based on user feedback
User interface tests are planned to figure out where users get lost on the platform.
Shareable user profile
User profiles should be shareable both online and via PDF.
In the online version, users of the SkillDisplay platform can opt-in to share information about their obtained skills and qualifications on a dedicated personal page.
Apart from their full skill portfolio they will be able to showcase their favourite SkillSets, memberships in organisations, activity diagrams, and special awards (e.g. having obtained a lot of knowledge in a certain field of expertise).
The shareable user profile will also be available as a PDF download. The printed document can be checked for validity against the online profile.
Performance optimisation
The performance of the platform should be increased.
Upcoming features list
Besides our already confirmed goals, we have a list with features which we would like to realise. These include for example awards in the user profile for which mock-ups are already available or improving the visual skill editor.
Prospective news articles
In the following months our news will focus on topics like the SkillDisplay profile or the integration of Moodle and JIRA with SkillDisplay. You can get updates by following SkillDisplay on Twitter and LinkedIn as well as on SkillDisplay’s website.
Partners of the project
The Erasmus+ goals would not be achievable without our partners of the Erasmus+ project, which are as follows:
- TYPO3 GmbH: The service company behind TYPO3 is based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
- Reelworx GmbH: The Austrian-based company specialises on implementing TYPO3 based solutions.
- SYNTHESIS Center for Research and Education Ltd. (Cyprus): A pioneering organisation which initiates and implements projects of positive social impact.
- HTL Wien 3 Rennweg: The higher technical education facility Rennweg in Vienna, Austria is a secondary school, providing education in the fields of information technologies and mechatronics.
- Liceul Tehnologic “Grigore Moisil” Braila (Romania): A secondary school in Braila, Romania, offering education in technology, economics, tourism, and hygiene.
Multiplier event: TYPO3Camp Stuttgart
Due to the Erasmus+ programme, SkillDisplay and its partners attend events to present the project’s outcomes to the community. Therefore, SkillDisplay is planning to attend the TYPO3Camp Stuttgart (#t3cs) which takes place in the “Technische Akademie Esslingen” from June 11-13, 2020. More information is available on the TYPO3Camp Stuttgart Website.
Goals of the SkillDisplay GmbH
Alongside the Erasmus+ project, the SkillDisplay GmbH was founded which comes along with some more future plans.
Quiz support
By implementing quiz support, the SkillDisplay platform will support push verification via a hooks system, allowing administrators of platforms like Moodle, Classmarker, JIRA, Asana, Trello, and others to perform a verification after a certain condition is met. Examples include educational-verification after taking a successful test on Moodle or business-verification after completing a specific task in JIRA.
TYPO3 v9/v10 LTS
The goal is to update the SkillSets for TYPO3 v9 and v10 to support learners who are preparing for their TYPO3 exams of the newest TYPO3 versions, educators who want to teach the newest skills, and business persons who want that their employees are working state of the art.
Kickstarter package
A currently running package is the Kickstarter package which is available on the recently created SkillDisplay GmbH website. The package has the aim to create a ready-to-use setting within one day. It is an ideal starting point for a use case-based evaluation of the SkillDisplay platform, where a Minimum Viable Product over the course of a one-day workshop guided by a SkillDisplay Certified Expert is created. The package also includes a 6-month SkillDisplay as a Service instance. Get more information about the SkillDisplay Kickstarter Package.
Happy New Year!
The next SkillDisplay blog post will be published later in January. Use the meantime to learn some new skills like Using Extensions in TYPO3 which is part of the TYPO3 CMS Certified Editor 9 LTS.We wish everyone a Happy New Year!
