COVID-19. What's about TYPO3 Events in 2020?

Instead of posting the regular 'Mark your Calendar' blog, we would like to inform you today about the planned TYPO3 events in 2020 against the background of the corona pandemic.
Some events, such as the WEBcamp Venlo and the CertiFUNcation Day at Phantasialand, have already been postponed or canceled due to the corona situation.

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) changed the status of the current outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from a 'public health emergency of international concern' to a pandemic. To support your health and well-being please monitor the official guidance from health authorities, local governments, and the WHO. To stay up-to-date, please review your local authorities' health advisories about this outbreak, as well as the global guidance from the WHO. 'Social Distancing' is the watchword these days.

Social distancing includes ways to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases. It means less
contact between you and other people.
Social distancing is important because COVID-19 is most likely to spread from person-to-person
through:

• direct close contact with a person while they are infectious or in the 24 hours before their symptoms appeared
• close contact with a person with a confirmed infection who coughs or sneezes or
• touching objects or surfaces (such as door handles or tables) contaminated from a cough or sneeze from a person with a confirmed infection and then touching your mouth or face.

So, the more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.

We understand the impact this has on our global TYPO3 community and the planned events in 2020. Safety first.

Events and meetups are a great opportunity to share expertise. Big things happen when people and ideas come together. We sincerely hope that the planned TYPO3 events can take place this year.
