Call for Sponsors: Annual TYPO3 University Day Coming Up

Calling all higher educational TYPO3ers and web professionals! We’re pleased to announce that the Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur and the TYPO3 Academic Committee have joined forces with us to bring the annual TYPO3 University Day (T3UD18) to an excellent location in the heart of Germany and Europe, in Mainz, just south of Frankfurt am Main.

The T3UD18 is a two-day leadership conference that takes place once a year at different locations. The conference continues to bring together higher ed leaders, future IT professionals and TYPO3 web professionals to deepen understanding of vital topics, advance innovative solutions and provide new opportunities for businesses.

Academic members and TYPO3 representatives are currently working hand in hand to shape the two-day event coming up in September. There will be a diversity of speakers, with a good balance between the two, providing insights from both the maker’s as well as the user’s side. In presentations, with high-level networking and with interactive debates in the World Café and in workshops, we address a wide range of issues that relate to higher education.

Sponsorship opportunities

We work with sponsors to integrate them into the conference, ideally in a way that augments their experience and advances each sponsor’s goals. Our sponsorships are designed to ensure maximum exposure and visibility for each organization before, during, and after the event.

Sponsorship comes in various packages and with many benefits, but most importantly, it is an amazing opportunity to align your business with our message of improving the collaboration between universities, TYPO3 and web professionals. Each tier level has a different set of benefits and stack upon each other as you move up the ladder. Choose the one that suits you best and find detailed descriptions in our info brochure.

Sponsors are welcome and all the sponsor logos get (tastefully) arranged. If you want to get exposure to a wide range of higher educational professionals and future IT specialists who are now still studying, there is no better event than the TYPO3 University Day to sponsor.

Users and makers come together

TYPO3 CMS is a popular choice in higher education. For instance, in Germany a substantial market share of 60% of higher education institutions use the open source content management system for their website. If you’re an academic member and your university or college is running a TYPO3 site - and there are an awful lot of good reasons to do so - then the annual TYPO3 University Day is the place to be.

The TYPO3 University Day is all about strengthening business relationships: those between colleges and universities that use TYPO3 and those between the TYPO3 users and the TYPO3 makers. Here, academic members and TYPO3 representatives share knowledge, experience and know-how.

TYPO3 users play a very active role at this event. There’s a good reason for this: it ensures that the makers know the specific requirements and can develop the software in a way that benefits its users. T3UD is an incredibly valuable opportunity for both sides and is rapidly evolving. Come along, engage in conversation with colleagues about how TYPO3 serves specific purposes!

BONUS: Mainzific Rim at T3UD18, a special event for students!

Starting one day earlier, SkillDisplay will bring together students to join in their three-day gamification event Mainzific Rim at the TYPO3 University Day. What is gamification, you might ask? It's the process of using games to engage the audience by rewarding them for achieving milestones or goals. It’s a great way to learn and will add excitement and value to the event.

SkillDisplay invites five teams of three students each to participate in this workshop from September 24th to 26th which leads up to the TYPO3 Certified Editor Exam (TCCE). Each of the teams will be supported by a personal operator. Essentially, Mainzific Rim is a hands-on way to learn TYPO3 editor skills in a fun and adventurous way. Its goal is to help students maximize enjoyment by utilizing game elements in learning environments.

Before leaving...cheers, folks!

Before leaving, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to our sponsors from last time around and also to Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences for hosting us so well, to the organizational team who helped bring the good work on its way and of course to all of the enthusiastic participants. We look forward to our tasks and the further joint venture. Thank you!
