Right-to-Left Backend UI in TYPO3 v13

TYPO3 is recognized for its multi-language capabilities with over 60 languages supported in the backend.

We’re proud to highlight that in TYPO3 version 13, right to left directional languages are now supported as well including: 

  • Arabic
  • Hebrew
  • Kurdish (Sorani)
  • Persian (Farsi) 
  • Urdu
  • Kashmiri
  • Pashto

To find these newly supported languages, visit maintenance → then select manage language packs. 

Click play to learn how to download the language pack and adjust user settings to display the RTL backend.

Implementing New Language Packs

In this example, we’ll refer to our video which walks you through selecting Arabic. 

  • Select Arabic from the language offerings and download. 
  • From there, go to user settings → then enable your new language and reload the backend to reflect the changes made. 

Now, your TYPO3 backend will run Arabic with right-left UI enabled.
