Announcing the End-of-Life of the Professional Service Listing

In an effort to streamline the internal operations of TYPO3 GmbH and enhance the quality of service we deliver to our official partner agencies, we hereby announce the end of the Professional Service Listing (PSL). The PSL was a place for TYPO3 agencies, developers and freelancers to be featured on the typo3.com website. All currently running PSL subscriptions will be canceled until the end of 2024 – with the listing reaching End-of-Life on 31 December 2024.

In an effort to be as transparent about this change as possible, we included all details leading up to this decision in this blog post, along with ways on how to provide any feedback or share thoughts regarding this change with TYPO3.

Why the Change?

Streamlining visibility and representation on typo3.com

With the introduction of the new TYPO3 Partner Program in the beginning of 2024, we announced the steady streamlining of all visibility topics and efforts towards our TYPO3 Partners. This started with the entire overhaul of the TYPO3 case study section to only represent TYPO3 Partner Case Studies and with the cancellation of PSL, we are finalizing this step at the end of the year.

TYPO3 partner agencies support the growth and development of the TYPO3 project as their extensive contribution supports the project’s continued growth. Our current TYPO3 Partner Agencies are not just members of the Association but additionally partners of the GmbH, and as such it’s our responsibility to ensure that we continue to empower them to expand their market reach and win new projects using TYPO3.

As announced at T3CON23, it’s our duty and goal to enable transparency and fairness through the introduction of clear rules and guidelines. We’ve come a long way in 2024 – but this is the final step in order to be fair to our partners, considering their important investments into the TYPO3 project. Allocating our time and resources to building a more constructive and mutually beneficial working relationship together is an important part of our operational objectives as the corporate arm of the TYPO3 project.

Improving Internal Efficiency

With regards to our internal processes, maintenance of the PSL, especially for our accounting team, took a considerable amount of time and resources. Processing payments for every PSL listed individual or company was time-intensive and in order to streamline our accounting operations, it was necessary to take this step.

A decision backed by data

While taking a deeper look into our website statistics, it was prevalent that visibility and impact of the Professional Service Listing was low and losing importance throughout our previous changes. Coupling this aspect with the previous one, the cancellation of the PSL was a matter of economic efficiency, too.

What Comes Next?

Do you have an existing PSL Listing?

If you currently hold an active PSL listing, you can either cancel the subscription by yourself any time with a 30 day cancellation period, or your listing will automatically be terminated within the existing 30 day cancellation policy and run out by 31 December 2024 at the latest.
