WEINMANN Emergency Medical Technology GmbH + Co. KG, a Hamburg-based, globally operating medical technology company, specializes in mobile system solutions for emergency, transport, and disaster medicine. WEINMANN caters to a diverse range of professional users across 150+ countries, with a product portfolio including ventilators, defibrillators, suction devices, and digital data management systems. The clientele includes emergency services, fire departments, hospitals, military medical units, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) specializing in humanitarian aid. The company’s mission is to develop robust, intuitive, and customized life-saving technology with a commitment to consistent product quality, proudly “Made in Germany.” 

Challenge

WEINMANN was searching for an agency to assist them in their goal to revamp and maintain their website. While attending a TYPO3 release party, WEINMANN was introduced to F7 Media, a full-service agency with expertise using TYPO3. 

The aim of the relaunch was to modernize and renew WEINMANN Emergency’s corporate website while preserving the overall structure and multilingual content that spanned across six languages, in addition to an English site serving the US market. Developing a stable, future-proof platform built for scale that proves WEINMANN’s international presence and reflects their high-quality standards was the main focus. 

WEINMANN’s website previously operated on TYPO3. This relaunch came with high expectations, those of an enterprise CMS, therefore TYPO3 CMS was the natural fit for a project of this complexity.

Work Performed

The working relationship between WEINMANN and F7 is long-standing, dating back to 2016. The 2023 website revamp of the emergency corporate website represented another phase in their trusted collaboration, allowing F7 to draw on familiar workflows and anticipate WEINMANN’s needs.

At the start of the project, the F7 team developed focused wireframes, evolving the design directly within the live site. This allowed content and feedback to shape the interface dynamically. By following this agile approach, quick adaptation to new requirements and continuous improvement throughout development was possible. 

The TYPO3 backend was optimized with an intuitive, editor-centric workflow and custom content elements. Responsive image optimization (WEBP, adaptive sizing, Tinify) and targeted API integrations—including Softgarden job listings, custom contact and event registration, and other key services—together delivered a substantial performance improvement.

Throughout the relaunch, F7 maintained a strong commitment to data privacy, developing tailored solutions to ensure all external services were integrated in full compliance via its in-house CMP built on Usercentrics. Additionally, a custom Double-opt-in process for WEIMANN’s newsletter registrations was implemented, ensuring personal data was not transferred to CleverReach until after confirmation. 

TYPO3 Dashboard widgets were added for key metrics, in addition to the replacement for Google Analytics for Matomo, a privacy-friendly insights solution. For continuous monitoring of the website's performance, F7 integrated their solutions to closely track Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed performance and any 404 errors. These measures ensured the site remained functional, fast and reliable at all times.

Outcome

The strong partnership between WEINMANN and F7 is based on trust and expertise. The relaunch was successful largely due to their collaborative partnership. F7 relaunched WEINMANN’s website on-time, achieving rapid results thanks to innovative workflows and highly flexible solutions, tailored to customer needs. 

The new website presents an improved workflow both internally and externally with a structure that is reliable and built-for-scale. Overall, the user experience was enhanced while maintaining high speed loading times and improving performance. Higher security standards were implemented and compliance was maintained. 

The reputation of WEINMANN’s product quality was reflected in their revamped web presence thanks to F7. They remain in an ongoing partnership serving as support with regular updates, and various continuous improvements (f.e. A11y).
