Introduction

The Hagedorn Group (UG Hagedorn), based in Gütersloh, Germany, is one of the world's leading providers along the construction industry value chain, focusing on demolition, waste disposal, recycling, civil engineering, heavy-duty logistics, land revitalization, and digitalization. Founded in 1997 by Thomas Hagedorn, the group now employs over 2,000 people and comprises more than 30 companies. With locations throughout Germany and projects abroad, Hagedorn is one of the most successful demolition companies internationally and is now active in numerous areas of construction and land development with its wide range of services.

Challenge

UG Hagedorn needed to transform their evolving corporate website into a strategic platform capable of supporting business growth, recruitment, and marketing performance. The existing structure no longer reflected the complexity of the group of companies, while responsibilities and expectations correlated to content varied across departments. The organization required a scalable information architecture that could be utilized and understood by editors so they could manage this independently, alongside measurable data-driven marketing capabilities.

The relaunch needed to strengthen the presentation of business and career content, while simultaneously aligning stakeholders. The platform required modernization without compromising existing visibility and traffic, keeping scalability and future expansion in mind.

u+i interact GmbH enabled UG Hagedorn to better present the business value behind their content. TYPO3 was chosen as the CMS for the relaunch due to its enterprise capabilities, combined with u+i interact’s expertise in creating flexible, scalable, and easily maintained platforms. TYPO3 provides a consistent information architecture while supporting long-term SEO-optimized content.

This project was jointly developed by u+i interact GmbH with UG Hagedorn.

The comprehensive relaunch redesigned and rebuilt the UG Hagedorn website into a modern, high-performance digital platform presenting the group of companies and its service areas. A new, expandable information architecture was introduced to support editorial independence while clearly structuring complex business content for external audiences. Through stakeholder engagement, business objectives and departmental requirements were translated into modular content components that enhance presentation quality and make better use of existing marketing assets.

Custom modules and category page types were developed to support customer and candidate journeys. Data-driven performance monitoring, including tailored dashboards, enables marketing teams to track visibility, analyze user behavior, and optimize campaigns. UX and design improvements created clearer entry points for target groups, while SEO analysis supported conversion-oriented landing pages and strengthened organic visibility throughout the relaunch.

The scalable TYPO3 architecture was implemented with future growth in mind. Editorial workflows were standardized through templates, module naming conventions, and training, enabling consistent content creation across departments. 

Alongside development, u+i interact provided ongoing online marketing consulting to keep the platform aligned with industry trends while maintaining security and performance.

Outcome

UG Hagedorn now operates a scalable, data-driven TYPO3 platform that strengthens brand presentation, enables independent content management, and improves visibility, recruitment, and marketing performance.
