PORR Group, a leading international construction company with headquarters in Austria, is known for their broad range of services and expertise working with complex projects. Their website has been operating on TYPO3 for nearly a decade and needed a revamp to accommodate the extensive content of the PORR Group and country sites reaching markets worldwide.
The PORR Group web presence serves as an international platform, presenting diverse content in a well-structured, organized way—addressing each target group directly. With one year to revitalize their web presence, Cyberhouse GmbH was the partner to reaffirm the group’s commitment to TYPO3.
TYPO3 was the selected CMS for this project due to its history with PORR and ability to create an accessible, high-performance, sustainable enterprise platform. This project proves how well TYPO3 is suited for enterprise scale, multilingual, multi-site projects.
The PORR Group’s TYPO3 relaunch took first place in the Enterprise category and was named TYPO3 Website of the Year 2025.
Project Details
With an extensive content offering and multiple country sites, migration was partially automated from the previous TYPO3 system with refinements made along the way. Extensive content included projects, press releases, people, locations, services and divisions. Thanks to TYPO3’s centralized data management, and multisite support, this content can be maintained efficiently and published synchronously across all country sites. This centralized content management optimizes work flows and ensures consistent brand communication across regions.
The modern, accessible design meets WCAG 2.2 AA and features custom icons, illustrations, and strong photography.
To further enhance the relaunch, Cyberhouse implemented clear navigation and fast search further optimizing the performance of the portal while enhancing user experience. Throughout the process, Cyberhouse deployed user testing to ensure high usability for both the front and backend. Workflows were significantly improved for editors in all markets with clear interfaces and efficient content management.
Sustainability was a top priority for PORR Group and this is proven in their relaunched TYPO3 website. Cyberhouse implemented a technically lean architecture with optimized loading times, resource-efficient code, and consistent image and asset management—reducing the energy required per page view. The long-lasting platform built on TYPO3 conserves resources and minimizes the need for major rebuilds.
Green hosting is provided by Mittwald, which relies on energy-efficient infrastructure and CO₂-compensated operations. These sustainable efforts reflect PORR’s commitment to environmental responsibility in the digital space.
Outcome
The PORR Group website went live in September 2025. The site now reflects a modern, visually impressive portal with interactive elements and high-volume content offerings. PORR is available in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and Romania. Corresponding pages are available in six languages, proving PORR’s wide range of activities.
Over the course of a year, nearly the entire Cyberhouse team contributed to this project in some way. The close collaboration between Cyberhouse and PORR is a true testament to the success of this timely relaunch.
