Jan has been working with TYPO3 CMS since back in 2003. At that time version 3.5 was out. Meanwhile - at the time of this writing - we’re at version 8.7! Fascinated by his first experiences with TYPO3, he quickly turned his hobby into his profession. He is convinced that a professionally maintained CMS is of great importance and value.
In his spare time he likes to play boardgames, do square dance and draw maps.

This year’s highlight took place last week in Malmö, Sweden: the TYPO3 Developer Days 2017 (T3DD17). As the biggest conference for everyone involved in the TYPO3 community, it brought like-minded people as well as old and new acquaintances together.
Today I would like to use the opportunity to demonstrate the setup of a new TYPO3 installation using composer with only a couple of commands in less than 5 minutes.
We are proud to announce the release of the new Long Term Support version v8 LTS. More than 250 contributors made this giant leap forward possible for TYPO3 within the last 18 months.
