Founded more than 150 years ago, TÜV NORD GROUP stands for security and trust worldwide. As a knowledge-driven company, it places a strong focus on digital connectivity. With a global team of 15,000 employees across more than 100 countries and 500 locations, including engineers, IT security experts, and specialists in future mobility, the organization is committed to ensuring people can continue to rely on technology in the future.
Challenge
The TÜV NORD website operated on the same TYPO3 system for nearly a decade. With a new branding and restructuring of business units, it became evident an overhaul of the content structure was in order.
For the relaunch of the website in 2023, the goal was to strengthen the digital presence while meeting growing requirements, including accessibility, in the area of e-commerce and online marketing. They partnered with Leuchtfeuer Digital Marketing due to their deep understanding and knowledge of TYPO3, paired with their experience working with large-scale, international projects.
The relaunch required close coordination across multiple internal and external teams, including a dedicated TYPO3 team on the client side. Process alignment, optimizing workflows and priorities spread across marketing, content, design SEO and development added complexity to the scope. Combined with the integration of numerous external systems and the need to effectively manage a large ecosystem of content, domains and interdependencies.
Work Performed
As part of the website relaunch for TÜV NORD GROUP, a strong focus was placed on improving accessibility to ensure all users have unrestricted access to information. Easy language was integrated across the platform to increase content comprehensibility and promote inclusion, removing barriers to information sharing.
The redesigned structure of the website (www.tuev-nord.de) introduces four central entry points—Services, Industries, Topics, and Knowledge—allowing users to efficiently navigate and engage with relevant content based on their individual needs.
SEO strategies were a major focal point of the relaunch, with the goal of increasing search engine visibility and maximizing reach. This was achieved by the implementation of overview pages under sectors and topics, proving easily accessible via search engines. The relaunch also included the development of a revised knowledge portal, consolidating various journalistic formats across fields such as education, certification, mobility, and innovation.
Additionally, this relaunch focused on corporate brand design. A comprehensive web style guide was developed and implemented by Leuchtfeuer, ensuring a consistent and attractive brand presence across all digital channels worldwide. The guide establishes clear guidelines for the use of visual elements and strengthens TÜV NORD’s overall brand identity and perception.

Outcome
This project required extensive cross-team collaboration across multiple disciplines. The relaunch included the management of a large, complex ecosystem of content, domains, and dependencies. As a result, the platform is designed with a user-focus experience in mind, servicing a variety of services, supporting a global network of over 250 editors.
The newly relaunched site delivers an accessible platform, built for scale. With an improved navigation, enhanced SEO performance and unified corporate brand identity, the platform is discoverable and positions TÜV NORD as a leader on its core topics on a global scale.
