The German Chambers of Commerce support businesses by providing market entry services, organizing business events to improve business relationships, and promote a favorable business environment.
The German Chambers of Commerce, the AHKs, are present in all countries of particular interest for German industry and commerce. The AHKs are the most important partners abroad of the Federal German Ministry for Economics and Technology in terms of promotion of German business in other countries. Together with Germany’s missions abroad (i.e. embassies and consulates) the AHKs officially represent the interests of Germany’s industry and commerce in respect of political and administration authorities in their host countries.
The network of German chambers of commerce ("Deutsche Auslandshandelskammern AHKs") consists of bilateral chambers of commerce, delegations and represantations of the German Economy. It consults, coaches and represents German corporations that want to expand their international business.
AHKs are institutions of the German foreign trade support programm. The German chambers of commerce and industry are coordinating and constantly furthering the development of an international AHK network. They are partly funded through the ministry for economy and energy (BMWi).
The AHKs have 40,000 member companies all over the world.
